Adding an icon to your blog/Website

For who those don't know what icon for a blog is then take a look at the pic above,You can see the icon of google in the adress bar(The one which has been highlighted with a red circle).This is the kind of icon we are going to put to your blog.Just follow the steps listed below

• Make an picture/icon for your blog(Better make one that depicts you blog content or blog name)using MSpaint or any other software and save it to your computer.
  
• Save it as *.jpg
  
• Now upload the pic to your server or some image hosting servers like imageshack.us
  
• Now copy this code <link href='http://www.yoursite.com/jpg' rel='icon' type='image/jpg'/>
  
• Now in the above red highlighted code replace the green part with url of the picture(e.g http://www.yourserver.com/filename.jpg)
• Now open edit template and paste the code just above the line< /head>
  
  
• Save the template and Publish(for old blogger users)
• Reload blog to see the change

   Good tip, however, if you don't want your icon to look distorted, create the image with a size of 16 pixels by 16 pixels.
   
   You can see how my site icon is not distorted on http://www.foogazi.com or take a look at how Google's icon has no distortion.
