The Sony Xperia U is Sony's second handset to be released to the market after the Sony Xperia S on May 10th 2012. The Sony Xperia U is a budget phone as it's price falls below 18k where it has competition from two Sony Ericsson phones, The Xperia Ray and the Xperia Neo V and also Motorola's Defy+. The Xperia S runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 and an ICS update will soon be available.
Display:
The Sony Xperia U has a TFT LCD touch screen with a resolution of 854x480 pixels and has the Sony Mobile bravia engine. The screen is around 3.5 inches and has around 279 PPI(Pixel Density) which means it has eye popping clarity.
Storage:
The Sony Xperia U has an internal storage of around 4GB, but there are also rumors that it has 8GB of it. Which is pretty good. But the disadvantage is that it doesn't have an external memory card slot which means you will be forced to use the internal storage which after installation of apps will be very less.
Processing Power:
The Sony Xperia U stands out from it's competitors with a Dual core processor, which means it will be faster and can processes more apps at the same time. It has 1.0 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM.
Battery:
The Sony Xperia U packs only a 1320mAh battery which means it will have lesser talk-time than it's competitors. Some websites on the internet says it has a talk time capacity of only about a five and a half hours. Which is pretty less compared to other phones in the same range. It has a Lithium Ion battery.
Camera:
The Phone has a 5MP camera and 0.3MP front camera to it's credit. The 5MP cameras of Sony are better than even the 8MP camera's of it's competitors. 720P video recording is possible.
Size:
The phone weighs 110gm which is great according to usual standards and is only 12mm thick.
