OnePlus One vs Iphone 6 Plus for Indian Customers

The One Plus One

Being someone who is eagerly awaiting the OnePlus One launch in India. I thought of writing a comparison between the highly awaited OnePlus One and the newly launched Apple's iPhone 6 Plus.

Body:

The OPO(162gm) is the lighter phone weighing 10gms lesser than the iPhone 6 Plus, while the i6+ has an edge over it's competitor in being the more slimmer phone of the two.

Display:

In terms of display It is hard to decide a winner as both the OPO and iPhone has the same resolution and PPI(Per pixel Intensity). Both the phones have an identical resolution of 1080x1920 pixels on a 5.5 inch screen with a PPI of exactly 401. The OPO has an LTPS LCD display and the iPhone an IPS display. While on paper the LTPS display is better than the IPS. You wouldn't feel a considerable amount of difference.

Processing Power and Storage;

The Apple iPhone 6 plus is backed by the A8 dual core processor with 1GB RAM clocked at 1.4 GHz, while the OPO is backed by Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB RAM clocked at 2.5GHz. Both the processors are hard performers and you wouldn't feel any lag on the phones.

OS:

While the iPhone 6 Plus is backed by the latest version of iOS, i.e version 8. The OPO is backed by the lightweight and customizable stock android like Android Kitkat(4.4.2).

Battery:

Both the phones have identical battery life with OPO having a 3100mAh and the iPhone a 2915mAh battery. Both the phones have non removable batteries.

SAR Values:

This is where OPO beats most of it's competitors hands down. For a phone with such high specifications the OPO has a very low SAR value(well below the limit of 1.6W/Kg). The SAR values for OPO are 0.62(W/Kg) on the head and 0.75(W/Kg) on the body.

Camera:

The OPO's camera is a beast no doubt. Just try googling for photos taken on the OPO. It will just take your breath away. The OPO packs a 13MP Sony Camera on the rear and a 5 MP shooter in the front with a viewing angle of 80%. The OPO's rear camera can shoot video of upto 2K resolution.

The iPhone still packs an 8MP Camera which has been the same since 4S days.

HDR mode is available on both the phones.

If i were given a choice between this two phones my choice would definitely be the OPO which is priced at half of Apple's iPhone 6 Plus.

Motorola confirms Moto G launch in February

Motorola Moto G - To be launched in India soon.
The highly awaited budget smartphone from Google owned Motorola has delayed it's launch in India, and will only be launched next month. Earlier there were speculations that the mobile would launch in late January.

The budget smartphone launched in US has already grabbed the market in it's class. Much is expected of the Moto G launch in India since it will be the re-launch of  Motorola Mobility in India. Motorola had earlier last year stopped it's services in India.

Huawei Ascend G600 - Worth every penny you spend

Huawei Ascend G600 reviews specifications
The Huawei Ascend G600 - A winner from Huawei.

Huawei , The largest telecommunication devices maker in the world has rolled out a new smartphone in the Indian market which we feel is a steal at the price it is being offered. The Huawei Ascend 600 has features that would put it's price range competitors to shame. A 1.2 GHz Dual Core ARM Cortex Processor is where the Ascend G600 gets it's amazing performance and runs the new Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. The Ascend's 8 Megapixel camera has some latest technology on offer, The BSI(Backside-Illuminated CMOS Sensors) which offers better performance in low-light conditions.

The dual DTS SRS speakers are a treat to the ears and an incredible screen resolution of 540x960 at 244PPI(Per-pixel intensity) in a 4.5 inch screen with HD IPS technology a treat to the eyes. If you thought that's all then you are wrong, the best is yet to come, The Huawei Ascend G600 packs an amazing Lithium-Ion battery of 1930 mAh power. A powerful battery means more backup time and talk time, and some users reported the phone lasts around a day and half without recharging.

Coming to memory and storage, The Ascend 600 packs 1GB of Processing power which is equal to processing power on phones like the Samsung S2 priced almost 10k more. The phone has an internal storage memory of 4GB and can be expanded to upto 32GB using a microSD card.

The areas where the phone falls is the GPU(Graphical Processing Unit), which is not among the best as it would be hard to run games with good graphics and some 1080p videos, but given the price range and other amazing features we would definitely ignore it. Another area that could have been improved is the resolution of video recording feature, while most phones in this price range offers 720p HD recording, The Ascend offers 640x480 pixel recorded videos.

Pros:
------

  • Dual core ARM Cortex processor with 1GB RAM running Ice Cream Sandwich OS.
  • An amazing 1930 mAh Lithium-Ion Battery that offers better talk-time and standby-time.
  • A 540x960 pixel, 4.5 inch HD IPS display with 244 PPI and corning Gorilla glass.(Better than the Samsung Galaxy S2).
  • 8 Megapixel Camera with BSI Technology(Offers great photos even at low-light).
  • Dual DTS SRS Speakers with amazing sound clarity.
  • A great phone at this price.
Cons:
------
  • A slightly weaker GPU(Graphical Processing Unit).
  • No 720p video recording, only 640x480 pixel recording.
The price at which Huawei offers this amazing smartphone is at Rs 14,990 and we feel the phone is a steal at this price considering the fact that it has features that would put costlier phones like the Samsung Galaxy S2 behind it. Huawei clearly has a winner in G600 and we would definitely recommend it to someone with a medium budget and wanting to have a phone with great specifications.
Flipkart.com now offers the phone at a price of 14,990 and along with it a 16GB microSD card.
