Finally Rapidshare is saying bye to its boring and tough captcha images(No longer will have to get confused over finding the cats),the file hosting giant announced the news yesterday on the website's news page.Even though they removed Captcha they have lowered the downloading speeds of free users too 500Kilobit/Second,and now Free users can upload files upto 200MB to Rapidshare,which used to 100MB earlier,

• No Captcha for Free users.
• Upload Limit increased from 100MB to 200MB.
• Download Speeds reduced for free users.
• No Time limit between Downloads.

By eliminating the captchas we simplified the use of RapidShare's free services significantly. In addition, free-users can now upload and download bigger files (up to 200 megabyte). Anyhow, to protect RapidShare from congestion caused by automated downloading, we limited the maximum download speed for free users to 500 kilobit per second. To compensate for that, they do not have to wait anymore until starting a succeeding download.

Rapidshare.com is undoubtedly the best one click file hosting site in the web today,originally Rapidshare.de is a German file hosting company which change to rapidshare.com,though it upgraded most of it's features from looks and user interface,it still lacks a file search engine.

We all know the iPhone 3G is on its way to india and that Airtel and Vodafone are the companies who are doing its sales in India,I knew the booking was to start soon never expected it to start this early,today i was visiting the Airtel site to search some hellotunes for my mobile and found they started iPhone Bookings!,So decided to google if Vodafone also started,yest them too.The Indian iPhone 3G version is priced at $199(Affordable) for 8GB edition and $299 for 16GB version.though 3G aint in India now,it is heard that it will come around January one month After the iPhone release.There might be taxes on these and price might go up a bit.

Well this is one of the coolest ever Firefox addons i ever saw,when i used to be a BSNL 500 Plan user i just had 1 GB limit then,so i had to control when i downloaded stuff and all,no matter how much i tried limiting it it always went passed the 1 GB limit and BSNL used to charge rs 1.20 for 1 MB extra then.Then i decided to change to BSNL Unlimited and though the speed is a bit slow than other connections i feel this was the right one for me,now i Download close to 10 to 20 GB/Month.So What i meant was that,i know a lot of people who gets worried of Broadband bills going to high than imagined.so what if you got a software which allowed you to see your download upload status while you are browsing.Well that's exactly what Datafox addon does,it supports BSNL and MTNL customers for now,lets just hope it reaches out to more Broadband plans.I came across this addon a few weeks ago on an online forum,but postponed the post just for firefox 3 to release i just wanted to make sure it worked with Firefox 3,and yes it does.From now on you wont have to log in to the Bsnl page to know how much you have bandwidth you have left and all.

Installing Datafox on your System

Requirements

>>You will have to install Mozilla Firefox you can get it from here or from here

Steps to Install:-

• After installing Firefox go to the Datafox Addon Page and click on add to firefox button

• After Datafox addon Installation restart your Firefox you will see an icon on the bottom right end of the firefox toolbar like in the picture below

Now clicking on the that small icon will take you to a login window where you will have to enter your BSNL Broadband username and password,Type in your Bsnl username and password which you use to connect to the internet.Not just BSNL,It also supports MTNL Bombay(Mumbai) and Delhi.You can either choose to save password you can also edit settings so that everytime you get on orkut the stats will always be ready.







Like here in the picture Datafox will provide you info on how much you have downloaded till this minute this month,you can see how much you uploaded beside Up and how much you downloaded behind Down,for example like i have Uploaded 0.757 GB and Downloaded 6.852 GB.Surplus transfer is given as N/A because i am using an unlimited Broadband connection.




Right clicking on the Datafox icon on toolbar will give you access to Preferences page of Datafox.At this page we can even select a manual bandwidth limit.You can also change the looks of Datafox .Entering your limit will allow Datafox to display a progress bar informing you how much percentage of Bandwidth you have left for the current month.You can find more information this addon at its official page.

It was really hard to find if someone is online or not at orkut,i mean you will never know at times.Even if the person logs off,their DP will remain on top of the friends list giving us a feeling that they are still online!,Now Orkut Admins again came up with this feature like in Yahoo messenger where you can see who is online and who is not.unlike the Gtalk icon this status will be shown to everyone on your profile once you are online on orkut.


A few minutes back i was spending my time on some orkut Community Forums when a small window popped up from the bottom right of my orkut page,which showed that my one of my friend is online right now,and it also had a link to his scrapbook(See snapshot).

I am not sure if this was here for long,i don't remember seeing it before,so i decided to check on the Official Orkut Blog and a few other Orkut news blogs likeorkut plus and Inside orkut,neither reported anything like this so decided to blog it myself,who know's maybe i was the first one to blog about this like what happened earlier when orkut added videos to profiles.It also showed me a few other friends who were online,wonder if everyone would like this move,some people might find it bad for their privacy at orkut.I was searching if you could control this new feature,i saw nothing on my settings page yet,maybe it will come soon.I will keep you updated with more news on this.

A few days go,i felt like something was missing from my orkut scrapbook,i dint get it at first soon i realized that it was the yahoo emoticons userscript that i had installed a few weeks back that had gone missing i wondered whats going on made sure that greasemonkey addon is working fine,soon i found out that Orkut.com has changed to orkut.co.in for indian users which means all the userscripts you already installed won't be working now.Not just indian users orkut also changed url to in some other countries which could make userscripts not work there too!



I came up with an easy solution to this problem by editing Greasemonkey userscripts here it is:

>>First open manage userscripts from greasemonkey it can be found at Tools>Greasemonkey manage userscripts(see picture below)


>>Open and edit url's of all the orkut userscripts you have enabled.

>>Edit and change the url to "http://www.orkut.*" like in the snap below.


>>Click ok and you are done!


This worked for me and emoticons on my scrapbook are back again :D

well after introducing themes for orkut offically,Google added another feature,most of us won't have seen it yet !,the new feature on the privacy settings page helps you to restrict people from other countries to view or send friends requests on default it allows people from all countries to view or add you,with this feature you can decide who can and can't !



to change these settings go to:

• Go to settings from Home Page
• Then to the Privacy tab
• look for My Network and change it as you like.

Most of us are already using this feature using Firefox and Greasemonkey?,its getting Better right now since orkut officially added this new feature for its users !,Orkut now has added about 10 themes to their list don't worry if you cant find an option to change theme,it will take some time since Orkut is updating older profiles now !, so watch out for this cool hack from orkut :)

Yup i am back again with another cool Youtube trick,This time it's about the youtube video player,I am not such a big fan of the old youtube video player!.I mean it looks chubby to me the only thing i hate about youtube is the video player(sorry to all those youtube fans!),So i was really excited to see the new youtube Video player which rolled out a few months ago

I love the new youtube player like most of my friends,Recently i had been hanging around @ Userscripts.org and found this javascript which installs the Jeroenwijering flv player instead of the two youtube video players,I am a big fan of the JW player and now i play youtube videos through it,take a look at the JW player playing the same Video on youtube!


JW player loads very fast and is really elegant so here is how you can get it to play Youtube Videos.

To begin this you will need:-

• Mozilla Firefox - Download
  
• Greasemonkey script - View Page

Ok first you need to install Mozilla Firefox and it's really essential for this trick as this never works in Opera or Internet explorer,i always recommend Firefox over Opera and IE because of its user friendly Interface and also because of the fact that Firefox happens to be more secure than the others! so you can get firefox over from the page here.Just click on the download button,and after you have it downloaded install it and run it!


Now from the Firefox window go to the Greasemonkey Addon page.Click on the 'Add to firefox' button and get it installed,Firefox might ask you to restart,just restart and you will be back at where you were the last time!

After you are done with this go to the Youtube Alternate Videoplayer page at Userscripts here

• Click on the install this Script button and install it!
• Now refresh the youtube page to see the New FLV player in action

The Video Player can be disabled by going to Disabling it in Greasemonkey !
